Project Overview:

As a Seattle corporate event photographer, I had the opportunity to document the Downtown Seattle Association’s (DSA) signature event, the highly anticipated ‘State of Downtown 2025’. Held at the stunning Summit Convention Center, this annual gathering brought together over 1,000 business leaders, elected officials, and entrepreneurs to discuss the future of Seattle’s urban core.

The evening began with a vibrant networking session, where attendees engaged in conversations, exchanged ideas, and made meaningful connections. The energy in the room was electric as professionals from various industries came together to celebrate progress and explore opportunities for the city’s growth.

A Packed Ballroom & Insightful Discussions

Following the networking session, guests moved into the expansive ballroom, where the scheduled program took center stage. DSA President and CEO Jon Scholes delivered a compelling presentation, offering insights and analysis on the current and future state of downtown Seattle. His discussion highlighted key trends, economic data, and evolving storylines shaping the city’s business landscape.

The event also featured Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, who addressed the audience with his vision for the city’s development, and keynote speaker Marc Dunkelman, author of Why Nothing Works: Who Killed Progress – and How to Bring It Back. His thought-provoking talk resonated with attendees, sparking conversations about innovation, collaboration, and the need for revitalization.

Adding to the evening’s significance, Washington Governor Bob Ferguson made a special appearance, offering inspiring words to Seattle business owners and entrepreneurs about resilience, economic growth, and the future of the region.
